@linuxthefish uptimerobot with me... tends to be slower on checking downtime but quick on back up again (while statuscake tends to be the sharpest), still i prefer 5min slow than nothing at all, i don't mind the occasional glitch :P also i use uptimerobot with everything (sites/vps/dedi/other stuff) and statuscake only with the vps/dedi...
with pingdom... humm not too sure about the settings (was a year ago), but i did change them a lot to try and find a good middle ground and well i have quite a few vps/dedi and even more sites so me moving on was not only that it wasnt perfect but also the price i was paying (10 bucks or somethin) didnt cover everything i wanted to monitor, i would say pingdom gives you lots, but the default settings are not ideal and the pricing is not ideal for me :P to cover everything i would need to be on the 100bucks a month >_> yeah i prefer to spend that on backups and cdn's ...
